Something needs to be said about the way things are being done around here. For thousands of years, there has been an alliance between the ruling class and the clergy. The clergy gain influence over communities of faithful believers by repeating the lie that a myth is a truth in defense of a fraudulent claim of an ability to know about the existence and will of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth. The ruling class buys influence over communities faithful believers from the clergy. With promises of divine eternal bliss in Heaven and threats of abominable infernal suffering in Hell, the clergy extort tithes and offerings from communities of faithful believers in exchange for a life long indoctrination in the lie that a myth is a truth and lead the communities of faithful believers they influence to believe that the will of the ruling class is in fact the will of a good one in Heaven. The purpose of this alliance between the clergy and the ruling class is to achieve and maintain authority, power, order and control over communities of faithful believers and by extension the states of our global culture. Spiritual slavery enables the ruling class to raise great armies from amongst communities of faithful believers and order those great armies to march off to their deaths if need be.
Over the thousands of years that religion has played a role in the global culture it has like all life forms been evolving. It should be no surprise to those who understand and believe the theory of evolution that the standard of conduct equated with the will of a good one in Heaven leads communities of faithful believers to behave like racist, heterofascist, warmongers motivated by promises of divine eternal reward and threats of abominable infernal punishment to out work, out fight and out number competition in a race to Armageddon. The pressures of competition in the game of survival and sacrifice have selected for those religions that were best able to motivate communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number competition. In a competition within the global culture between ideological traditions, the survivors were those ideological traditions that aggressively motivated communities of faithful believers to out work, out fight, and out number competition. The sacrifices were those ideological traditions that were more passive. Therefore all of the mythology about divine eternal rewards and abominable infernal punishments given out by a good one in Heaven who commands communities of faithful believers to work all the hours of the day, fight evil, be fruitful and multiply; prohibit sex for occupational, recreational and or homosexual purposes; and object to sexual education that could make these practices safer; can be understood by us today to be the product of this competition to survive rather than any reflection of the will of god. Threats made against the life and or afterlife of any body who does not submit to the authority of religious leaders who repeat the lie that myth is truth in defense of their fraud and extortion can be understood by us today; to be the origin of most if not all of the terrorist threats made by religious extremists against secular states that self organize around freedom of thought, belief and religious expression.
The ruling class is made up in large part of a mercenary plutocratic predatory few that profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex. Now I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex are smart enough to know that it is a lie to claim that a myth is a truth. I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex are smart enough to know that religious leaders who repeat the lie that myth is truth in defense of their fraud, threat making, and extortion are the ultimate source of the biased communities of faithful believers that produce religious extremists. I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex are also smart enough to know that the terrorist threats made by religious extremists motivate the people of free societies to accept their offers of a promise of protection in exchange for gold. I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex are smart enough to know that the lie that myth is truth is good for their protection racket.
Therefore, I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex do not use the gold given by the people of free societies to provide real protection by punishing religious leaders that repeat the lie that myth is truth as criminal liars for their fraud, threat making and extortion; and thereby shutting down the ultimate source of religious extremism. Instead I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex do all that they can; to give generously to religious leaders that repeat the lie that myth is truth in defense of their fraud, threat making and extortion; and insure that the rights of liars to engage in fraud, threat making and extortion are respected by the people of free societies. Thereby I believe the mercenary plutocratic predatory few who profit from the sale and manufacture of the services and products of a beast of a military industrial complex insure; that the pool of religious extremists is continually renewed; that the people of free societies continually have to contend with terrorist threats and attacks; and that their offers of a promise of protection from terrorist attack in exchange for gold are always accepted. In essence I am describing religious leaders who repeat the lie that myth is truth in defense of their fraud, threat making and extortion nested within a shakedown of epic proportions some call a global war on terror.
Some may argue that loyalty to mendacity as a life style is justified in the interests of crime prevention. Some may argue that if communities of faithful believers expect to go to hell or have bad karma for committing a crime then members will be less likely to commit a crime; and therefore crime prevention justifies the lie that a myth is a truth. If those same people can not understand that mendacity as a life style is a crime and a source of crime from my description of religious leaders who repeat the lie that a myth is a truth in defense of their fraud, threat making, and extortion; nested within a shakedown of epic proportions some call a global war on terror; then maybe they have no loyalty to the truth and or are too heavily invested in the lie that myth is truth to change.
I can tell you the change we need to make: If we are going to stop ourselves going down a path to our own destruction, we need to stop lying to ourselves, stop lying to one another, start telling the truth and start behaving in a logical manner. We need to start behaving less like racist, heterofascist, warmongers and more like friendly, homotolerant, peacemakers. People are waiting for leadership from the ruling class. It seems like some in the ruling class believe they can ride on the crest of a wave of destruction. Does the ruling class believe as long as they remain on the crest of a wave of destruction, as long as they have the latest weaponry, the best lobbyists and most formidable defenses, then everybody in their families will be safest from harm? Does the ruling class believe they will be free to make ever greater profits from bigger and every more destructive wars? The true source of their wealth is the creation of life in our body consuming biosphere. If racist, heterofascist, warmongers amongst the ruling class break the body consuming biosphere, to the point where the food chain suffers a precipitous collapse then the wave of destruction will break and they and their families will be struggling to survive in a great tribulation just like everybody else that survives to witness it.
It is up to the ruling class to stop supporting the institution of spiritual slavery and decide in the long run that it is better to find a way to use loyalty to the truth and logical behavior to achieve and maintain authority, power, order and control over communities of faithful believers and by extension that states of our global culture. A bifurcation of the clergy where in those that acknowledge the truth that a myth is a myth are permitted to retain their tax exempt status and those that stubbornly cling to the lie that a myth is a truth in defense of a fraudulent claim of an ability to know about the existence of a good one in Heaven at war with an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth lose their tax exempt status and pay a special vice tax for their public displays of mendacity. All clergy should have to make a public disclaimer to the effect that the education and leadership provided is for entertainment purposes only. Over time such a bifurcation of the clergy would reduce the number of people who have lost their minds.
That's right. Reduce the number of people who have lost their minds. Truths can be verified to be true by use of our senses and perceptions. Lies can be verified to be false by use of our senses and perceptions. Myths can not be verified to be true or false by use of our senses and perceptions. Those who claim that a myth is a truth, make themselves into liars. If the ability to sort ideas into three simple categories, truth, myth and lie, is lost then so too is the mind. It is up to the ruling class to stop the institution of spiritual slavery from causing people to lose their minds.
The problem is the ruling class seems to be made up of people who have lost their minds. The competition to be a member of the ruling class is homicidal and even genocidal at times. There are examples of rulers who killed off everybody in their immediate family so that they could rule alone. There are examples of rulers who married a member of their immediate family in the misguided belief that only those with blood of the ruling family are good enough for a royal marriage. For all of it's imperfections, the American revolution was a blow to the legitimacy of the monarchies of the time. Unfortunately, the clergy is the mouth piece of the ruling class, and the American revolution did nothing to stop the alliance between the ruling class and the clergy from leading a large proportion of the American people into the institution of spiritual slavery. Any liar who is capable of attracting a regular congregation to a service at a regular place and time can apply for and receive a tax-exemption from the state. Loyalty to mendacity and illogical behavior is rewarded by the American government with a tax exemption. Loyalty to mendacity and the promotion of illogical behavior is the hall mark of spiritual slavery. What could be more illogical then leading communities of faithful believers to behave like racist, heterofascist, warmongers motivated to out work, out fight, and out number competition in a race to Armageddon, and to believe that Armageddon is a good thing, because that means that judgment day is nigh and the faithful will soon be elevated to a place of divine eternal bliss some call Heaven?
The flames of excessive multiplication fanned for thousands of years by these aggressive ideological traditions are running up against the limited dimensions of our body consuming biosphere. The problem is global warming, deforestation, desertification, pollution, desolation of large areas of land in war, dead zones in the oceans, melting of ancient glacier, a billion people not getting enough food every day and the daily starvation of on average thirty thousand children aged zero to five. Regardless of what is happening in the world around us, these liars lead communities of faithful believers to channel all sexual energy into sex for procreative purposes; be fruitful and multiply; work all the hours of the day from dawn to dusk and fight evil. That is fight against anybody that is not doing the same thing; and or not believing the same way. While this kind of behavior may have helped states, communities of faithful believers and the ideological traditions they self organized around to survive in the past, in the present I believe this kind of behavior threatens to lead the many of our global culture down a path to their own destruction: Armageddon.
If we are going to stop ourselves from going down a path to our own destruction, then we need to stop lying to ourselves, stop lying to one another, start telling the truth, and start behaving in a logical manner. That is all that is required. If we do this, then we will soon realize that it is optimism and not pessimism that correlates with happiness and health. If optimism correlates with happiness and health, then imagine the harm caused by billions of people focusing the mental energies on a pessimistic myth about the existence of an evil one cast down to and ruling over Earth. If optimism correlates with happiness and health, then out of an infinite number, diversity and variety of myths made possible by the existence of discovery and the existence of mystery, the logical choice to make when orienting self towards world and explaining world to self is a belief in the one myth that enables us to have the highest esteem of the existence of one totality. If optimism correlates with happiness and health, then the logical choice to make when orienting self towards world and explaining world to self is a belief in a most optimistic myth about the existence of an infinity, divinity, eternally, one that is in everything, everywhere, at all times, and manifests for the purposes of enjoying entertainment as an infinite seed, an infinite body, an infinite soul, and an infinite spirit.
